OSSLT Registration Deadline

All students wishing to write the OSSLT must notify the school they wish to write at by Thursday, March 8th, 2018.  Check the Student Guide Announcement for the link to the registration form for those who wish to write at VLC's Lindsay location.  The student guide announcement contains a helpful letter which students should take to schools with them.

On February 28, 2018 we encourage everyone to wear something pink to show that we are all working together to prevent bullying in our schools, in our communities and online.

Olympic Olumnus - Dara Howell

 

Dara Howell is a former VLC and Huntsville High School student.  She was a gold medallist in a skiing event at the last winter olympic games in Sochi. There has been some media coverage of her journey after winning the medal for anyone who is interested in doing some research.  However, the moral of her story is that is OK to dream big!  

She competes Friday, Feb 16th - Ladies' Slopestyle Qualifiers starting at 8:00 p.m.

 

 

Florida School Tragedy

We are deeply saddened by the tragic event that took place at Marjory Stoneman Douglas HIgh School in Florida on February 14th. Flags are lowered across Trillium Lakelands DSB. Our thoughts are with the victims, families, and community of Parkland, Florida.  Please reach out for support services should your child need them.

Semester 1 Report Cards

Semester 1 Report Cards were mailed on Tuesday, February 13th, 2018.  They will be sent to the mailing address provided at registration. 

New Student Orientation Sessions

There will be several meetings held throughout the week by our Student Services teacher, Mrs. Kuypers, welcoming new students and helping them navigate their way through our program.

There will be several meetings held throughout the week by our Student Services teacher, Mrs. Kuypers, welcoming new students and helping them navigate their way through our program.  

Meetings are scheduled on: Tuesday, February 6th at 2 pm, Wednesday, February 7th at 12:35 pm, Thursday, February 8th at 9:15 am.  These meetings will go over the same information. 

Students only need to attend one meeting if they want - these are optional but recommended.  There will be a drop in session on Friday, February 9th at 11:55 am.

Semester 2 Startup

VLC Semester two courses will come online beginning Monday February 5th.  Course status will remain "Pending" until the course begins. Once the course has begun, the status will change to "Confirmed". Students should log in and check their profiles and course dashboards regularly.

End of Semester Information and Proctor forms

Congratulations to our students who have dedicated themselves to their studies this semester.  Please send proctor forms as soon as possible.

Semester 2 Registration Closed

Registration for VLC courses for Semester 2, 2018 is now closed. Registration for our Fall 2018 Semester will open up mid-late April.  An announcement will be posted on the main website.

Bell Let's Talk Day

Tomorrow on Bell Let’s Talk Day, January 31st, The Virtual Learning Centre will be joining the conversation around mental health.

EXAM WEEK

VLC Exams run Jan 25th, 26th, 29th and 30th.  Students must be available to write exams during this week.  All students should have notified their teachers about proctor information.  VLC Proctor forms must be submitted immediately after exams have been written.

Welcome Back

Semester 2 Registration - Update

Registration opened for Semester 2 on October 30th, 2017.

At this late juncture, please select at least two alternate course choices when registering. Courses that you select may be full by the time we receive your supporting documentation. We may have to adjust your first course choices with alternate choices in order to provide you a timetable with the number of credits requested.

Applications submitted after December 20th are considered late.  Late applications will be reviewed beginning the week of January 8th, 2018.  

Urgent Registration Reminder

Semester 2 courses are filling rapidly.  Please register for courses as soon as possible.  Ensure you include alternate course selections in case your first preferences are full.
