The staff of the Virtual Learning Centre wishes everyone a happy holiday season. Whatever your traditions are at this time of the year, we wish you peace and joy. Take time to celebrate family, friends and the small things which enrich our lives. Embrace the diversity which makes our community so uniquely rich and valuable. Our office will be closed as of Friday, December 22nd at 4 pm, and will return to normal business hours at 8:30 am on January 8th, 2018.
- Semester 2 Registration - Update
Registration opened for Semester 2 on October 30th, 2017.
At this late juncture, please select at least two alternate course choices when registering. Courses that you select may be full by the time we receive your supporting documentation. We may have to adjust your first course choices with alternate choices in order to provide you a timetable with the number of credits requested.
Applications submitted after December 20th are considered late. Late applications will be reviewed beginning the week of January 8th, 2018.
- Urgent Registration Reminder
Semester 2 courses are filling rapidly. Please register for courses as soon as possible. Ensure you include alternate course selections in case your first preferences are full.
- Remind App - VLC Communications
Mrs Kuypers has set up a Remind account for parents to join to get reminders about: registration, course start dates, upcoming school events, graduation, and post-secondary application information.
- Giving Tuesday
Given all the commercialism of the past few days, we are asking students to read the information about Giving Tuesday from givingtuesday.ca.
- Full Disclosure Deadline
Deadline for withdrawal from Gr 11 and 12 courses and not have them appear on transcripts is Friday, November 24th, 2017. Withdrawals after this date will appear on transcripts.
- Mid Term Reports
Mid-term report cards were sent out on Friday Nov 17th. Please allow 5-7 days for delivery.
Please Note: CHV2O (Civics) grades will not appear on mid-term reports as they are final grades. They will appear on Final Report Cards at the end of semester.
- Graduation and Post-secondary Plans for 2018
If you are a current student who plans on graduating this school year and/or attending a post-secondary institution in the fall of 2018, you must complete the form found in the Student Guide announcement posted on Monday, September 18th: Graduation and Post-Secondary Information Request - IMPORTANT.
Information on your next steps will be sent to your VLC gmail account the week of October 2nd.

- OSSLT Registration Deadline
All students wishing to write the OSSLT must do so by this Friday (March 3rd)
- Fall semester
We are now accepting applications for the fall semester.
- Mid term reports
Midterm grades are centrally loaded on April 25th. We are hoping to get report cards in the mail before the end of April.
- Tuesday September 6th
Our office is currently overwhelmed with telephone calls. Please do not contact anyone in our office regarding class schedules or your registration. Please refer to the announcement posted on August 29th. Please use your student notes for any requests for course changes. These will be addressed by the end of the week if seats are available.

- Orange Shirt Day
The VLC is proud to be an ally in indigenous reconcilation on Orange Shirt Day.
- Literacy test
We were pleased to welcome 29 VLC students (some who traveled from as far away as Ottawa and south western Ontario) to Lindsay to write the very important Ontario Secondary School Literacy test.
- VLC Gazette Issue 5
The VLC Gazette team is excited to present Issue #5 of our school newspaper.
- OSSLC is available in Semester 2
The VLC will be running the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Course (OSSLC) in second semester of this school year (subject to sufficient registrations).
