March 31, 2020 Important School Update

I am confirming the news from the Minister of Education that our school will remain closed until at least May 4, 2020 as part of the provincial effort to stop the spread of the COVID-19.

We have been working with the school board on a plan so that learning can continue while students are at home. Information about the plan may be found on the TLDSB website. Information will continue to be added to this page so please check back regularly.

Starting next week we will be bring classes back online in a reduced format in alignment with ministry expectations. We want to be sure that our at home learning plan is as successful for your child as possible.  If your child is not ready to start Virtual Learning Centre classes on Monday please contact me directly at to discuss further options. As a reminder students will need a computer with a reliable internet connection.

I know this is a very stressful time for all members of our school community right now - our students, our staff, and their families. Your well-being must continue to be your first priority. Please reach out to myself if you have any questions or concerns.

School Closure

The Ontario government stated that all publicly funded schools in Ontario are ordered to remain closed from March 14 through to April 5. This means that Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) schools including the Virtual Learning Centre (VLC) and Open School (OS) will be closed for two additional weeks following the March Break.

During this time there will be no new modules, online classes, or open office hours for students. If a student has a due date already set during this closure it will be extended until we return. Our office will be closed during this time and we will not be responding to emails.

The OSSLT scheduled for March 31st has also been cancelled as schools will be closed.

For all COVID-19 updates visit the board website

We will be updating the VLC website and student guide as information becomes available.

Our Courses

All of our courses are taught by highly qualified Ontario teachers who understand how to blend the power of synchronous, streamed communication with the flexibility of static, anywhere-anytime course content. Students succeed in our program and our attrition rates (under 20%) demonstrate that our program works for most learners.
