International Women's Day

International Women's Day (IWD),  is celebrated on March 8 every year.  It commemorates the struggle for women's rights.  In current times, when the world is seeming a little more uncertain, it is important to acknowledge the importance of women in our society. It is important to celebrate how far we have come, but equally important to reflect on how far we still have to go to ensure all girls and women have the same opportunities as men and boys. There are many places around the world where females don't have the same access to education or health services. They have less right to freedom of choice and speech. Even in our own backyard, there have been numerous missing and murdered indigenous women who were denied equal access to justice.

The staff and students of the VLC remain solid in their commitment to the rights of all people regardless of gender.
