Pink Shirt Day - February 28th

Pink Shirt Day

On February 28, 2018 we encourage everyone to wear something pink to show that we are all working together to prevent bullying in our schools, in our communities and online.

The Pink Shirt Day 2018 campaign focus is on cyber bullying.  In today's digital world where filtered photos and crafted messages can be posted in an instant, it often takes more time and effort to say something mean than it does to say something nice. Kindness requires no manipulation, no focusing on the negatives, and no filtering of yourself. It’s easy to be nice. This year the campaign focuses on online behavior, and we encourage all VLC students to remember that Nice Needs No Filter!

Post your ideas below on the padlet for acts of kindness that you can carry out, not only tomorrow, but any day!  Both online or in person.

How it Began

Pink Shirt Day comes from two Nova Scotia high school students, who decided to take a stand against bullying in their own school.  Click here for the full story.
