School Closure

The Ontario government stated that all publicly funded schools in Ontario are ordered to remain closed from March 14 through to April 5. This means that Trillium Lakelands District School Board (TLDSB) schools including the Virtual Learning Centre (VLC) and Open School (OS) will be closed for two additional weeks following the March Break.

During this time there will be no new modules, online classes, or open office hours for students. If a student has a due date already set during this closure it will be extended until we return. Our office will be closed during this time and we will not be responding to emails.

The OSSLT scheduled for March 31st has also been cancelled as schools will be closed.

For all COVID-19 updates visit the board website tldsb.ca/covid19/.

We will be updating the VLC website and student guide as information becomes available.

Many thanks to everyone who has registered for Semester 2 already.

If you have not registered yet, you should do so ASAP.  Classes are filling quickly and some have been closed as they are full.  Make sure you include alternative courses.

Registrations after December 21st are considered late.

Reminders

  1. Log in and check your course selections.  Ensure you provide all documentation which has been requested.  This is important to ensure that you are eligible (e.g. pre-requisites) to register for a course.
  2. If you have not been prompted/emailed to send anything, you have sent in everything needed to process your application.
  3. All courses will appear as "Pending" until classes begin in Semester 2.  This is not something to be concerned about.

Pink Shirt Day

On Wednesday, February 26th, 2020 we encourage everyone to wear something pink to show that we are all working together to prevent bullying in our schools, in our communities and online.

The theme for this year’s Pink Shirt Day is “Lift each other up”; a simple but powerful message encouraging us to look beyond our differences and celebrate the things that make us unique. When we lift each other up, we see past the things that separate us and see instead the things that unite us as people.
