World Autism Day 2019
In 2012, the Canadian Parliament passed the World Autism Awareness Day Act recognizing April 2 as World Autism Awareness Day. The purpose of this day is to generate awareness and understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder. Approximately 1 in 66 children and youth are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in Canada and this number continues to grow. (www.autismspeaks.ca)
Many cities and countries around the world light up their landmarks blue to help increase understanding and acceptance of people with Autism. Join us as we show support by wearing blue on April 2nd.
