As we approach the end of 2021 I would like to thank you for the flexibility that you have demonstrated as we have all adapted to the impacts of COVID-19. This has been a very challenging year for all of us and I encourage you to find ways to take time to rest, relax, and rejuvenate over the break.
Reminder to everyone that the school will be closed from December 20th to December 31st. We will be responding to email and phone messages throughout the week of January 3rd.
On behalf of the entire staff at the VLC, I would like to wish everyone a warm and relaxing winter break. I hope that each of you are able to connect with family and friends in a safe manner over the break. We look forward to seeing everyone back on January 3rd.

Miterm report cards were sent out to student’s VLC email addresses as well as their parents/guardians’ emails if under 18 this morning.
Within the VLC some students may have two midterm report cards attached to the email with some of their courses listed on each.
Please note CHV2O will not be included on the midterm report card as it is a final mark and will be reported at the end of the semester.
Should you have any questions or concerns, please contact us via email ([email protected]).
EQAO has announced that there will be two writing sessions for the OSSLT students this year. The first in the Fall and a second session in the spring. The Ministry has also announced students graduating in the 2021-22 (including the summer) school year will have the OSSLT requirement waived.
VLC students who are in grade 11 or grade 12 students who will not be graduating this year will be able to write in the fall session. Instructions for signing up have been shared through email and in the student guide.
VLC students who are in grade 10 this year will write in the spring session. No action is required for grade 10 students at this time. Additional information will be provided closer to the spring.
Once again, our school will be participating in the Terry Fox School challenge! We have taken part in this fundraiser for the last five years and we have raised over $$8628.07! Terry once said, “Anything is possible if you try”, so this year, the Terry Fox Run’s theme is “Try like Terry.”
We are challenging students to get out and walk/run/bike/skate/hike/wheel in support of the Terry Fox Foundation and help raise money to support cancer.
On October 8th at 12 pm we would like all participating students to get outside and walk/run/bike/skate/hike/wheel for the challenge.
If you would like to register or donate on behalf of the school please visit our school’s fundraising page.
